Leadership Lamoille

We are currently recruiting for our 2011-2012 class of professional adults to go through the Leadership Lamoille program. This is the second year for the program and it was a huge success this year (Important links are below).

Leadership Lamoille is a great program that businesses can use to develop leaders within their own company. One way is by using it as an annual program and appointing one specially chosen employee to send through the program. I know when my company approached me in 2002 and told me I was the pick for the 2003 Leadership Champlain class, I was proud of the job I was doing and the obvious confidence shown to me by my employer. Leadership Champlain helped me become the leader I am today. Let Leadership Lamoille do the same for you and your staff!

Our dynamic leadership program for Chamber members and non-members begins enrollment in May (deadline is July 30) and the class begins in September 2011.

The links below will give you all the information you need, but feel free to email or call the Chamber for additional guidance as well. The class commitment is one full day a month (every third Wednesday of the month) from September to June. There is also some time on your own to work on your group project. That usually takes place during lunch breaks, at night or on a weekend. Figure about forty hours on your group project throughout the six months.

I hope you join us this year in the 2011-2012 Leadership Lamoille Class yourself, or by sending a member of your staff.

Sincere regards,

Some Quotes from this year's class:

  • The program is terrific and a great learning experience personally - which will help in my business life. I appreciated immensely the ability to connect with so many business and community leaders; connections that I will be able to use in the future.
  • I actually learned a lot about myself and different areas of interest to me. I found that through many of the sessions we had that there is so much more to being a leader than I originally thought and there are many aspects of leadership.
  • The program overall was very educational and a lot of fun at the same time. It provided me the opportunity to meet people in my community that I can network with, and it really made me feel like I want to get more involved in the community.
  • What a great program. This was a great way to learn about the day to day of the community. It was nice to meet with people who you wouldn't normally be able to ask questions of. The education day was a big eye opener. To see how the funding happens was amazing. To learn how to be a leader takes some give and take and team work.
