ARE YOU READY FOR NIGHT GOLF?!?!
Once again, the Lamoille Chamber of Commerce is changing things up! Instead of “Wack-A-Doo,” this year’s “Max Neal ‘Onward’ Scholarship” fundraising event will feature GOLF AT NIGHT!
On August 11, beginning at 7:00 pm, our Chamber will present its first ever “Night Golf” event at Copley Golf Club. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go toward scholarships for local high school seniors graduating in 2018, to help them further their education in the State of Vermont.
But it’s less about the golf and more about the fun (and, of course, the scholarships)! We’ll have “LED”-lit golf balls and fairways lined with lights. There will be a putting contest, and prizes for the best costumes and decorated golf carts, as well as other awards.
This event is designed to appeal to inexperienced and experienced players, so all are welcome to come and play, or to enjoy the spectacle from the comfortable veranda at Copley Golf Club! Non-participants will be asked to make a $50 donation to the scholarship fund.
At 7:30, we’ll be serving a yummy bar-b-que, and after a brief players’ meeting at 8:15, we’ll light things up and hit the links! At 10:30 you can test your nocturnal putting skills in a contest on the putting practice green, and we’ll finish with an ice cream sundae bar and awards.
We’re pleased to say that we’ve signed up our first two sponsors for this event! The Vermont Flannel Company will be sponsoring the gift bags, and so each participant will go home with a terrific Vermont Flannel Co. bag and other awesome items from Bourne’s Energy, Smugglers’ Notch Resort and Sterling Ridge Log Cabin Resort! Also, we’re so grateful that Rich Jacobs at Edward Jones Investments will be sponsoring one of our “holes.”
We’d be happy to speak with you about additional sponsorship opportunities!
We can only accommodate 48 players, and we’ve already sold several “teams,” so give us a call and register soon!
We’ll also have a silent auction, and donations from our members would be appreciated!
