There is an undeniable campy appeal to his ruminations” – Seven Days (Vermont’s Arts and Entertainment weekly)
“With his clever lyrics and endless enthusiasm, it’s no surprise how easily he wins an audience” – Elizabeth Moison, author of Master of the Sweet Trade (A Story of Pirate Sam Bellamy, Mariah Hallet, and the Whydah)
Ahoy! My name is Ron Carter, aka Rockin’ Ron the Friendly Pirate. Since 2002, I’ve performed Pirate Music for ALL Ages. I sing to my own guitar accompaniment and to tracks from my stylistically diverse albums Give Me an RRR, Pirate PaRRRty, and The Flying Pirate Circus. My main port ‘o call is Smugglers’ Notch Resort – America’s Family Resort and I have appeared throughout Northeastern North America at schools, libraries, and events.
My often interactive songs have boat loads of wordplay and nautical references. Topics includelanguage (Give Me an RRR, Without the R, The Word Pirate), history (1717, Pirates & Privateers, Black Snake Tale), special occasions (Pirate Birthday PaRRRty, Buccaneer Bells), and values (Seven C’s, Friend Ship). My characters Oona Uni-hook, Pearl the Purple Pirate Princess, Scurvy Dog, Scaredy Cat, Polly Esther Pants, and Cranky Pirate are easily relate-able. I am a graduate of Boston’s Berklee College of Music where I received the Richard Levy Scholarship for Composition. My approach is Sesame Street meets Monty Python.
Find music from The Flying Pirate Circus, Pirate PaRRRty and Give Me an RRR on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon¸ YouTube, Spotify and other sites. My music has sold around the world: USA, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, Russia, Asia, Australia. I will send CDs upon request.
I would love to sail to your port, till then… fair winds & following seas!
